About Cronah
Work that restores places — and pays people fairly
Cronah exists because two problems usually get solved separately: neglected public land, and people who are ready to work but keep getting filtered out before they get the chance. We treat them as one problem. Every project we run does both — measurable environmental work, delivered by a crew that needed a fair shot at steady, paid work.
How we work
We plan and deliver environmental projects — urban greening, cleanups, site restoration — for municipalities, companies and NGOs. The field crews on every project are made up of local people who face real barriers to employment: long-term unemployment, no formal work history, or simply never having been given a first opportunity. They're trained, paid fairly, and given work they can point to when it's done. Every engagement ends with a report: what was restored, how much waste was recovered, how many hours of paid work were created.
Why paid work, not volunteering
Most corporate environmental and CSR programs run on volunteer hours — employees give a day, a platform tracks it, everyone goes home unpaid. That works for engagement. It doesn't create jobs. Cronah is built the other way round: the people doing the restoration work are being paid a fair wage for it, not donating their time. For someone facing long-term unemployment or no formal work history, a paid day is a foothold — a reference, a track record, a reason to show up tomorrow — in a way an unpaid one isn't. It also means the work itself is more reliable: crews show up because it's their job, not because it's optional. For an organization, that's the difference between funding a feel-good afternoon and funding an actual employment outcome you can put a number on.

How do you select project sites?
We look for public or semi-public land that's neglected but has real community value once restored — riverbanks, parks, vacant lots. Sites are surveyed and, where needed, permitted before they go on the map.
How is pricing determined?
Every project is scoped individually — site size, crew size, and timeline all affect cost. The intro call ends with a concrete estimate for your specific project rather than a fixed rate card.
Can we get an impact report for ESG/CSR reporting?
Yes — every engagement ends with a report covering area restored, waste recovered, and hours of paid employment created, formatted for CSR/ESG use.
How long does a typical project take?
Depends on scope — a single cleanup can be a day; a restoration project can run for weeks. We'll give you a timeline on the intro call.
Do you work outside Sofia?
We're based in Sofia and expanding city by city as crews form — check the map for current and upcoming locations.
What happens on the intro call?
Thirty minutes. We map your goals to a concrete project, a location, and a first estimate of environmental and social impact.
How is this different from a corporate volunteering platform?
Volunteering platforms schedule your employees' unpaid time for a few hours of feel-good activity. Cronah delivers the environmental work itself, done by a paid crew — you get a finished restoration project and a documented employment outcome, not a logged volunteer hour.

No. We train for the specific project type before your first paid day — tools, safety, teamwork.
How much does it pay?
Pay is agreed before each engagement and depends on the project and your availability — this is confirmed with you directly, not listed as a flat rate here.
